The rules followed a streamlined Quintet format: 5-person teams, submission-only no-gi matches (5 minutes each), with IBJJF blue belt legal submissions. Competitors squared off in order of ascending weight, with draws eliminating both grapplers and winners continuing on until one team was left standing.
